Show Rules

  1. The Committee will not bear any responsibility for any injury, loss or damage occurring from any cause, arising in or near the vicinity of the showground.
  2. The Committee reserves the right to refuse entry and to remove any animal or competitor from the showground without being liable for compensation.
  3. The Committee reserves the right to amend the order or timing of classes or to cancel any event as may be considered necessary. Start times are only approximate.
  4. Competitors and their servants must carry out any directions given to them by Show Officials.
  5. Any person may lodge an objection on the day of the show provided this is made in writing to the Secretary together with £15.00 cash. Should the Committee override the objection the fee will be forfeited. This applies to all classes.
  6. Hard hats must be worn at all times on the clubs showground when mounted. Hats of the current standard Must be worn and fixed with a Chin Strap.
  7. Correct dress to be worn when competing.
  8. At the discretion of the Show Officials, horses and ponies may be measured if deemed necessary.
  9. Excessive use of whips, spurs or other maltreatment of an animal in or out of the ring will NOT be tolerated. Offenders are liable to have their entries cancelled and their fees forfeited, and will be asked to leave the showground.
  10. An animal will be barred from competing if, in the opinion of the Committee, is unfit for any reason.
  11. The Judge/Judges decision is final.
  12. Any person causing a complaint may have their entries cancelled and their fees forfeited.
  13. All ridden mounts must be aged 4 years or older.
  14. Jumping classes will be judged according to B.S.J.A. rules with regard to penalties.
  15. No whips or spurs allowed in Gymkhana events.
  16. Lead rein enteries must have the lead rein attached only to the noseband, snaffle bridles only allowed in Lead Rein, Beginner and First Ridden classes.
  17. The Committee reserve the right to refuse or cancel any membership.
  18. All Challenge trophies remain the property of the Club. Except where stated, Challenge trophies will be awarded to the persons, who at the end of the season have gained the most points in each class throughtout the year. Points are awrded as follows: 6 for 1st place down to 1 for 6th place. All trophies must be returned in the condition they were received to a Committee member when asked. There will be no Members Cup Show this year.
  19. For obvious safety reasons, no entire colts or stallions will be allowed in young handlers classes.
  20. Any person who persists in galloping up and down the showground will be asked to leave.
  21. To gain points at the end of the season the owner, rider and handler must be a member of the club.
  22. Any abuse aimed at a Judge or Steward/Committee Member, from any competitior or spectator will result in the offender being asked to leave the showground immediately and entry fees will NOT be refunded.
  23. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and under control.
  24. All rubbish must be picked up and taken home with you, Strictly no mucking out on the Showground.
  25. Spurs only to be worn by 16 years and over in any competition.
  26. Once entered no refunds unless course builder/St Johns consider ground unsafe to continue.
